Thank you for joining us for Round 2!

Thank you to the many community members that joined us at our Neighborhood Pop-Up Events in the Burbank Rancho! Over the course of the month of July 2026, the City of Burbank held three events as part of Round 2 of the community engagement process to prepare the Burbank Rancho Neighborhood Specific Plan (RNSP):

  • Option #1: Saturday, July 11th | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mountain View Park (picnic area)

  • Option #2: Saturday, July 18th | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Johnny Carson Park (near playground)

  • Option #3: Thursday, July 23rd | 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Calvary Bible Church

What did we do?

Based on the project team’s analysis and research as well as the input received from the public during Round 1, we shared preliminary ideas and options for the future of the Burbank Rancho. These were shared in the form of presentation boards/exhibits across four different stations and topics, which are available for download and viewing at the links below.

Station #1 - General Information

Included an overview of the Burbank Rancho, general information about the project, and identified goals and objectives of the RNSP.

Station #2 - Urban Equestrianism

Included information about the history of horsekeeping in the Rancho, data on current horsekeeping activity, ideas about updating horsekeeping regulations, and ideas about improving equestrian access.

Station #3 - Mobility

Included ideas about intersection, roadway, and accessibility improvements for pedestrians, bicyclists, and automobiles.

Station #4 - Land Use and Development

Included a history of land use policies and regulations in the Rancho, ideas about housing, commercial, mixed-use developments, and revitalizing Main Street, through the lens of zoning.

If you couldn’t join us, you can still provide input!

Review the presentation boards/exhibits shared at the events. If you would like to provide comments, please email them directly to the City Project Manager, Greg Mirza-Avakyan, at gmirzaavakyan@burbankca.gov. There will be additional opportunities in the coming months to provide more input.

What’s next?

Over the next few months, the project team will use your feedback to refine preferred recommendations for the future of the Burbank Rancho. We will share recommendations at our third round of community engagement to be held in the coming months. To be the first to know of future events, sign up for project updates HERE.
